Featured Vendor: Kreepy Kids

Kreepy Kids is the sister store to Fallen Fey and Snappy Knees. In this etsy store you will find fantastic prints, shirts and other items that will embody famous people. there is an entire Wizard of Oz Collection or how about the 80's band people.

The versatility with being able to choose what Kreepy Kid goes on what item is great!

Here are some of the ones I want for my house. I guess with my computer being broken the last thing I need is a screen cleaner but I could use it as a pin cushion..

The tin man print from the wizard of Oz.
Siouxie from Siouxie and the Banshees print.
Computer screen cleaners with the Kreepy Kids on one side.

The newest item in their shop is edible sheet transfers with any of the 135 Kreepy Kids on it and you can put them on your own cupcakes or cookies at home. How cool is that?

So stop by Kreepy Kids booth at HHB. They will be with Fallen Fey and Snappy Knees too.

Vendor Feature: Wonderland Creations

Wonderland Creations makes the coolest hats. I was so excited when they decided to be a part of HHB. One of the best things is that they will me making custom hats right on the spot at the show!

All of Wonderland Creations Hats are made from anti-pill or polar fleece with embroidered details.

Here are pics of just a few of my favorites:

With cute hats like these what kid ( or adult) wouldn't want to wear them when it gets cool in Florida.

When I worked in Europe I wore a hat everyday and when I was back in April I did. I wish I was wearing one today cause it is 69 degrees at work so maybe I will have to buy one to add to my collection.

Since I have a HUGE noggin it is nice to see that they can adjust the hat size if you have a smaller or in my case larger head than 24 inches.

I am so looking forward to meeting Wonderland Creations at HHB next Sunday.

Acoustic Performance at Handmade Holiday Bazaar

We're so excited to tell everyone that Dean Johanesen and Scott Anderson of The Human Condition will be playing live at the Handmade Holiday Bazaar! If you haven't heard them in person at one of their many gigs around town, listen in on their MySpace or Reverb.

We're not the only ones singing their praises, check out what the local press has to say about them:

"The superb Human Condition offers acoustic rock that's warm, personal and, well, human. The group's radiant melodies and easygoing aura should delight fans of Ben Harper, Matt Costa and Dave Matthews."
-By Carole Giambalvo, tbt* columnist , St. Pete Times – TBT

"Critics Pick *five as best local CD 2007 - The Human Condition came up aces with *Five. The disc collects five tracks of deeply felt acoustic rock, bouncing from ripping country-tinged burners like "Purple Heart" to slower, soul-tinged tracks like "Back Roads." "
-Creative Loafing

"The Human Condition, "Five" Dean Johanesen fronts this excellent roots-rock outfit. Johanesen's country-hued compositions are backed by a hard-riding rhythm section and some stinging guitar work on this five-song outing that leaves us wanting more. in the process."
-Curtis Ross, Tampa Tribune

"“The Human Condition is a tight band. Their sound is distinctive yet familiar, combining the up-tempo heartbeat of the Dave Matthews Band, the melodic hooks of David Gray and the emotionally raw lyrics of Tori Amos…and like the aforementioned artists, they are engaging to watch.”"
-Aaron Alper , The Gazette

If you needed another reason to come by the bazaar this is it! They'll be doing an acoustic performance from 2-4 on the porch at Fiberologie the day of the show.

Happy Place

Some people's happy place is the beach or a quiet spot in their garden. I'd like to propose that if you quilt, sew, craft, love fanciful prints, or even just appreciate the feel of crisp cotton that you stop by Fiberologie in St. Pete... it could be your new Happy Place!

I happened on Fiberologie completely by accident while doing a google search for designer fabric. The Fiberologie website is super cute, but I wasn't prepared for the wonder of this shop. I stepped onto the quaint little front porch one morning and Karrie, the owner of Fiberologie, was having a cup of coffee. She opened the door to the 1920s house and amidst the beautiful white wood work, built in shelves, and brick fireplace was bolt after bolt of amazing fabric. Textiles from lots of top designers like Amy Butler and Heather Bailey, as well as really unique finds like some imported Japanese prints.
Not only will you find the newest designer fabrics in the industry, Karrie also supports local crafters by featuring some handmade pieces in her store as well as some of her own handiwork.
If you're not already a fabric addict, Karrie will help you along with the many classes she hosts. In addition to classes, you can stop by for a quick make-n-take project, or donate your time to a charitable cause by participating in one of Fiberologie's charity days. I recently spent a morning at Fiberologie making "pink" beanies for the Susan G Komen foundation. I couldn't think of a better way to spend a leisurely morning than sewing away, in great company, for a good cause.
I'm beyond excited that Fiberologie is our host for Handmade Holiday Bazaar! Come to the bazaar to shop the vendors and discover Fiberologie... it's yet another reason to love St. Pete!

Featured Vendor: Bands By Hand

Think "stocking stuffer" as you check out this sampling of Bands by Hand's super cute headbands:

Bands by Hand also has a really unique way to display and store the many many headbands you'll pick up at the Handmade Holiday Bazaar:

Featured Vendor: Unique Concepts

Unique Concepts is run by Robert Freeman. He draws all original art and then he makes prints of his illustrations and sells a variety of them in his etsy shop. I love being able to get affordable art.

What grabbed me when I first looked at his site were his Holiday Cards. He can take any of his print images and turn them int o a set of cards. The pricing for the cards is below which is way cheaper for an "original" card than what you would find at Hallmark or Target.

Six(6) one design in 5½ x 4¼ for $1.25 each or $7.50
Six(6) assorted designs in 5½ x 4¼ for $1.50 each or $9.00
Six(6) of one design in 5 x 7 for $1.50 each or $9.00
Six(6) assorted designs in 5 x 7 for $1.75 each or $10.50

This illustration reminded me of the retro Christmas scene you would see in 50's magazines.

Every holiday I always have people I am not sure what they celebrate, especially some of my clients, this card set encompasses all of the major winter holidays.

What a great print for a cooking party set of invites for for a chef to hang in their kitchen.

Stop by and order a set!

Featured Vendor: The Kacz Collection

I met Christine of The Kacz Collection at my first ever show. Her booth was right next to mine and I fell in love with a brown and turquoise purse with a Paris theme and a scooter purse. We did a couple of shows together last year and I am so happy she is going to be a part of HHB.

I am thinking she may have some of her holiday themed bags for HHB. She has expanded her line from bags, scarves and jewelry to include cool ties, headbands and other accessories.

This stylish Alexander Henry Print bag is perfect for anyone who loves an animal print.

This is a great gift for anyone who lives in Florida and loves to be outside. These cool ties help you keep cool in the hot days and are reusable and only $6.99.

This is for your friend or family member who is a pet lover. These dogs are adorable.

The Kacz Collection has so much more to offer so swing by her booth at HHB and check everything out!

Vendor Feature: Stray Creative

I could tell you all about this next vendor's wonderful jewelry or what a great person she seems to be, but I think Jess of Stray Creative says it best herself with this piece she calls Speak Love:

SPEAKLOVE started out as a personal improvement project.i am ready to change my ways...to stop looking for the negative in people, and to focus on the good.to make a difference to everyone i have met, and will meet.now don't get me wrong.this is way harder to do in real life.that is why SPEAKLOVE was born.
SPEAKLOVE is a reminder.a reminder of the impact our words & thoughts have.on each other & on ourselves.on those we love & those we don't even know.
Think about how many people you come into contact with everyday.now think about how amazing it would be if you affected them in a positive way.if you smiled at the high school student working the drive-thru, instead of avoiding eye contact.told someone you hope they have a fantastic day...and meant it.one little act of kindness, one smile, can change someone's whole day.therefore, encouraging them to do the same!and a whole chain reaction of kind words and good thoughts will begin.and by giving out positive thoughts, it will inevitably make you more positive.
so wear a SPEAKLOVE necklace, and as you see your reflection in a window, or feel the necklace on your skin,in your rush to do whatever you are doing...i hope it will make you think before you speak.

Featured Vendor: Real Rasperries

In checking out Real Raspberries for this piece I saw that she has two shops. She has a shop on etsy(the linked one above) and another shop.

Michele sells a variety of all natural, organic, bath salts and scrubs, scented flower bouquets and natural soaps.

I know from my own concoctions that lavender is a natural stress reducer and is good to help you sleep. This soap below would be great for nighttime baths.

What a wonderful scent, Cranberry Pomegranate soap to get you ready for the holidays.

I know that I love to take baths and bat salts are so relaxing. These Creme Brulee salts were made in honor Michele's sons favorite desert.

The Fantabulous KittyCrossBones

Kittycrossbones us run by AmyLynn and in my book she is a superstar!!! I have been shopping at her store since May of 2007. She is s sponsor for HHB because she is responsible for printing up all of our fabulous postcards about HHB to give out all over town. She also completed this in a pretty short amount of time.

I am sure she is the person I have purchased from the most on etsy.

For me personally she has made my business cards ( did a brand new layout and all) mirrors, matchbook pads, buttons 1 and 1.25 inchers, and sitckers for my shop.
Her quality of product scannot be surpassed and I am always telling people how great she is. She is a delight to work with and have the highest standards of service. All of her items are full-color vibrant products that can compete and win with the big box stores.
These are her 2.25 inch custom mirrors. I love the ones she made for me with my logo.
I ordered 500 of these stickers and I put them on my packages and seal my items in tissue paper with them

These are the 1.25 inch buttons and I think I ordered 500 the last time.

The more you order the bigger discount you get. I have found out more is better than less because if you do a lot of shows a sticker is a pretty cheap way to promote yourself...

These little matchbook pads were my most recent purchase and I love them!
Stop byKittycrossbones and check her out. She is a sweet girl and I am always so pleased to receive anything she makes for me..I promise you will be too!

Featured Vendor: Perpetual Pickles

I first met Perpetual Pickles at another craft show I was in last year in St. Pete. I fell in love with her record bags.

These bags are a great way to reduce, reuse and recycle old items and repurpose them into something new and fabulous.

This first bag is made out of an actual record! Too cool.

This bag would be a fun bridal shower gift or bachelorette party gift for your evening out.

This last bag would be great for any vacation or for just bringing your goodies to the beach or the pool.

Make sure to swing by Perpetual Pickles table at HHB.

Handmade Holiday Bazaar Shout Out

Atomic Holiday Bazaar is an uber hip totally rad craft spectacular held in Sarasota 3 years running now. Adrienne, the AHB organizer/promoter extraordinaire, gave us a shout out on her MySpace page... in her "as only Adreienne could put it way" (we luv ya girl!) check us out:

This is going to be a meaty piece of bloggy pie. My crafty ladies of Sew It's For You and Elle Belle have organized "Handmade Holiday Bazaar" on November 9th, 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. at Fiberologie in St. Pete, Florida. I am hoping to cart my busy ass up to their shindiggy provided I can battle my way out of my house which is filled with thread, vintage clothing, half-made handbags, half-made D-I-Y kits, etc-crafty-f'in-cetera. It's that time of the year when the craft supplies just take over the house like black mold, it happens quickly and before I know it, I can't find the couch, my Ipod, nuthin, it's all covered up. If you've seen my cat, tell her I changed the litterbox and we're good to go now.

Featured Vendor: Paper Sparrow

Paper Sparrow is the sister shop of Bungle Bear. In this shop you will find a shop full of gocco prints, original paintings, greeting cards and more most importantly at an affordable price.
